No man - no problem</i>—Joseph Stalin I read a recent comment the other day on a Global Warming post responding to the question: “How Will We Know When Climate Change has Stopped? The commenter lamented that <a href="http://globalclimatechaos.blogspot.com/" rel="nofollow">no one is seriously suggesting that we can stop climate change completely; but maybe we can stop catastrophic climate change before it's too late. </a>. I should have re-engaged with the question: How Will We Know When Catastrophic Climate Change has Stopped?, but didn’t because all I read and hear is phrased—Stop/Halt Global Climate Change. For many hundreds of years people have believed that the solar influence on climate revolves around the earth, as if C02 makes the sun irradiate. And now, the proud skeptics proclaim the earth revolves around the sun. That the sun is the ultimate arbiter of energy on earth, something more awesome and powerful than anything man can imagine. And now, as always, the forces of entrenched orthodoxy, those Gaurdians of the Sacred Consensus by the Infallible IPCC, seek to stamp out notions that the heavens have no concern of man or life. Yes, I said it. The universe doesn't give a fuck about life on earth. The sun, stars and everything move on without us. Even our climate... All the way back around 300BC the greeks believed the sun revolved around the earth.
